FAQ

Why didn't you include ___ ?

  1. Promising you will do something is not the same as actually doing it. We report on the latter and typically ignore the former.
  2. Money makes the economy go round, not the world. Whomever originated that famous saying ("Money makes the world go round") did so before climate change happened. Investments in the future fall under the premise of #1. Where we can connect climate technologists with active funders, we feel that that could put a lot of value in the KnowWhom without muddying peoples newsfeeds with things like VC spending updates. This area of thought is a work in progress and your feedback is welcome.
  3. We pride ourselves on our thoroughness, but we're human. We miss stuff. Let us know what we missed.

Politics, Policy

We do not believe that policy and politics do not matter, but there are plenty of outlets for reading about that. All of those outlets provide inefficient means of actually connecting us together. Ultimately that is what ClimateOnward aims to provide, a global black-book for all us cool kids to utilize, now that Climate Change has happened.

Climate Change has happened ?

The public conversations around climate change are largely ineffectual. Most news feeds that do happen to include climate related stories are filled with weather current events, governmental policy actions, unapplied patent filings and research findings, or conservation oriented calls-to-action against routine-driven, complacent individuals. Most people view climate change as something that will happen, but those working in the field know that it is here. We acknowledge that there is great loss and suffering happening, with much more to come. All of that will garner plenty of media attention, making the enablers of change harder to hear from. ClimateOnward is the platform for people looking for the next step.

Why are your articles so short, where's the content ?

We believe the boring basics of journalism (the Who, What, Where and Why) can keep us collectively informed of where the global climate tech movement is headed, and do so with wasting as little time of yours as possible.

We are a unique feed that tries to pack all of the information you actually need to stay informed on one 'card', for our swiping consumption habits and insatiable appetites to stay informed. Our daily posts are primarily designed for rapid consumption on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels and Instagram.

When a topic interests you, our paying subscribers can access Links to supporting articles, read feeds based on Tags of your interests, and most importantly, know who is doing what: companies, institutions, individuals and occasionally financiers will be highlighted for every Story card, eventually coming together in to a black-book product we are calling the KnowWhom. Early subscribers will have access to this unstructured data before we productize it.
